Age Connects North Wales Central

ACNWC is a registered charity that works to support and promote the rights of older people across the counties of Conwy and Denbighshire.

As part of the Older People’s Forum project, Age Connects produces a bimonthly newsletter for the members. This being a 2 page, informal circular sent out to the 107 members across Conwy county.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent national lockdown, Age Connects NWC saw a need for a weekly newsletter for older people not accessing the internet or using streaming services, to provide up-to-date, accurate information, advice and sign posting for those self-isolating or shielding.

The length of the newsletter increased from 2 to 10 pages, and is printed in colour.  Gwynt y Môr proudly funded the amount of £3,334.06 to assist with distribution and printing costs.

See video below for a member of the newsletter's thoughts:

Not only has the Age Connects Newsletter been a help for its members, it has also been a huge help for staff within CVSC.  During the height of the pandemic CVSC staff often referred to the newsletter for assistance with complex enquiries.

CVSC proudly display the newsletters on our dedicated CVSC COVID-19 support page for users to download for free.  Another huge supporter of the newsletter has been the services within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board who have found the newsletter to be invaluable.

See below video from Megan Vickery (Health Board's Engagement officer for Conwy) and her thoughts on the newsletter.
